  1. David B. Says:

This is less a stimulus plan than a Obama socialist joke–hundreds of millions for contraceptives, hundreds of millions for an Agriculture building renovation and totally enough future debt for my grandchildren to give each US household $17000 outright–a real stimulus to get spendable money into the hands of the people. Eleven Democrats joined in to vote against it. You read through this bill and you find most spending is set in out years, not now. This is a play that rewards the most liberal concepts anyone could come up with. Cut taxes! Cut federal and state spending. California is bankrupt because it spends, spends, spends. But we can now put our grandchildren’s future in the hands of leaders who lie and cheat on their taxes (Rangle, Geithner), have a history of corrupt practices (Dodd, Frank, Reid, Wexlar, Waters), are guilty of malfeasance-see former leadership of FNMA and congressional oversight. This package will do the same as the TARP spending-it will disappear into the hands of those who know the leadership that passed the bill. I have read much of the bill and it will not accomplish anything Obama promises. Other than that… How about dividing up the one trillion into two pots–52% of it follows the Obama plan and 48% follows a plan of selective tax cuts and investments that encourage the wealthy to again put their money to work. Massive federal programs and lots of road building jobs, contraceptive sales jobs won’t do it. Federal jobs get created and never go away. Look at the energy department, created in the 70’s to eliminate our dependence on foreign oil. It is multi-billion agency that employs about 100,000 peole and it has NOT done its job but still exists. America does not need more of this!
